Uijeongbu City Extends Ban on Private Gatherings 'Level 2.5' for 2 More Weeks
Operation of Academies and Private Institutes with 9 or Fewer Trainees Allowed
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Uijeongbu City in Gyeonggi Province will extend the social distancing level 2.5 for two weeks.
On the 2nd, Uijeongbu City announced, "We ask for citizens' cooperation in extending the COVID-19 level 2.5 social distancing and the year-end and New Year special quarantine measures."
The government announced that the metropolitan area social distancing level 2.5, including the year-end and New Year special quarantine measures implemented since December 24 last year, will end on January 3, and will be extended for two weeks from 0:00 on January 4 to 24:00 on January 17.
This measure prohibits private gatherings of five or more people and reservations or accompanied entry of five or more people at multi-use facilities such as restaurants, in addition to social distancing level 2.5.
Also, outdoor winter sports facilities (ski resorts, ice rinks, sledding parks) will be closed from 9 PM to 5 AM the next day and will be limited to operating at one-third of their capacity.
Enclosed outdoor screen golf courses are prohibited from gathering, and academies and private institutes are generally prohibited from gathering; however, academies and private institutes with nine or fewer students at the same time are allowed to operate.
Accommodation facilities are limited to reservations within two-thirds of the rooms, and exceeding the room capacity is prohibited.
