Cumulative Confirmed Cases in Gyeongbuk Region Reach 2,426 as of Midnight on the 2nd

According to Gyeongbuk Province, as of midnight on the 2nd, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in the Gyeongbuk area increased by 20 (including 2 imported cases) from the previous day to 2,426 (including 118 imported cases).
By region, confirmed cases are 12 in Gumi City, 4 in Gyeongju City, 2 in Cheongsong County, and 1 each in Yeongju City and Gyeongsan City.
Among the 12 new confirmed cases in Gumi City, 6 are contacts of a church-related confirmed case (Gumi case number 240). Of the remaining 6, 2 are imported cases from North America or Europe.
Among the 4 new confirmed cases in Gyeongju City, 3 are contacts of a prior confirmed case (Gyeongju case number 145), and 1 is a contact of a confirmed case from Seonggwang Church (Gyeongju case number 186). This individual was classified as a contact and tested positive after showing symptoms during self-quarantine. The prior confirmed case number 145 was found positive in a COVID-19 test conducted posthumously last month, and subsequently, 8 family members were confirmed positive.
Among the 2 new confirmed cases in Cheongsong County, 1 is a contact of a prior confirmed case (Cheongsong case number 11), and the other is a contact of a confirmed case from Daegu. Both were tested and confirmed positive after developing symptoms during self-quarantine.
The confirmed case in Yeongju City is a contact of a prior confirmed case (Yeongju case number 55), and the confirmed case in Gyeongsan City was asymptomatic and tested positive during a pre-departure screening test for travel to Europe.
In Gyeongsangbuk-do, 189 people (excluding imported cases) have been confirmed positive across various regions over the past week, resulting in a weekly daily average of 27 confirmed cases.

Meanwhile, in Gyeongbuk, the highest daily number of confirmed cases was 122 on March 6, followed by a drop to 31 on March 8. However, on December 17, the daily confirmed cases again reached 31, then surged to 59 on the 21st and 67 on the 24th.
