Mokpo National University LINC+ Project Group Signs MOU with Haenam County to Realize Innovative Policies
Public-Private-Academic Partnership for Establishing Village Community Models in Haenam-gun
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] The LINC+ Project Group (Director Lee Sang-chan) of Mokpo National University (President Park Min-seo) announced on the 31st that on the 30th, they signed a business agreement at the Haenam County Office Situation Room with Haenam County (County Governor Myeong Hyun-gwan), Haenam Office of Education (Superintendent Jang Seong-mo), the Chairman of the Bukil-myeon Apple Blossom Library Construction Promotion Committee, the (Acting) Chairman of Samsan-myeon Residents' Autonomy Association, Bukil Elementary School, Samsan Elementary School, Duryun Middle School principals, the Senior Consultant for Residents' Autonomy from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, and the Honam University LINC+ Project Group.
This agreement was promoted to establish a sustainable and happy Haenam County village community model by pursuing joint prosperity of the region through public-private-academic cooperation, utilizing school sites, shifting from administration-centered to resident-centered autonomy, solving social issues based on village field activities, and conducting convergence and cooperation projects beyond the scope of administrative agencies.
To this end, the LINC+ Project Group will support solving problems discovered in the region by utilizing university resources through living labs; the Haenam Office of Education and schools will participate in and support rural study programs and village education community policies; Haenam County will provide budget support and respond to public contest projects related to village communities; residents will provide and participate in connecting village resources; and the residents' autonomy consultants will play a role in creating innovative models through building public-private-academic governance.
Director Lee Sang-chan said, “Through regional cooperation projects and living labs, we have discovered various institutions and agendas to contribute to the local community,” and added, “We will create a model of regional cooperation in Haenam through active responses via the practical promotion committee to ensure the successful implementation of this agreement.”
