View original image[Asia Economy Reporters Lee Ji-eun and Lim Chun-han] Kim Jong-in, Emergency Committee Chairman of the People Power Party, emphasized the importance of the agenda regarding the summit meeting proposed by Lee Nak-yeon, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, stating, "Meeting to exchange a few words and then parting ways is meaningless."
Chairman Kim said on the morning of the 31st, after the National Assembly emergency committee meeting, "Since there has been no official proposal, I will review it in my own way if an official proposal comes," he said.
He emphasized, "I have not yet been notified (by the Blue House)," adding, "The summit meeting only has meaning if we can confirm what we will do when we meet; meeting to exchange a few words and then parting is meaningless."
This is interpreted to mean that the summit meeting should not simply end as a 'photo opportunity.'
Regarding the recent resignation offers by the Blue House's Senior Secretary for Civil Affairs and the Policy Chief followed by personnel reshuffles, he said, "The current situation is somewhat chaotic in various ways, so those responsible must step down to manage the situation," adding, "Therefore, personnel changes will likely take place this time."

Concerning opposition party unification, voices within the party are calling for unification with Ahn Cheol-soo, leader of the People Party. Chairman Kim stated, "I believe it is my responsibility to produce the most suitable candidate within the People Power Party, and I am not interested in people outside talking this or that," adding, "There is no need to respond to any particular person asking for unification centered around me."
