[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Double-digit confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) continue to occur in Gyeongnam Province.
As of 1:30 PM on the 30th, Gyeongnam Province announced that 14 confirmed cases have been reported: 8 in Jinju, 2 in Sacheon, and 1 each in Geoje, Haman, Hadong, and Gimhae.
Among the 8 confirmed cases in Jinju, 3 were classified as cases 1271 to 1273 after testing positive following a screen golf gathering with previously confirmed cases in the province.
Additionally, 2 family members of the confirmed cases related to the screen golf gathering tested positive and were classified as cases 1280 and 1281. Case 1280 attended a middle school in Jinju, and case 1281 attended a university until the 29th of this month; testing is currently being conducted at these schools.
Furthermore, family members of cases 1253 and 1254 tested positive and were classified as cases 1274 and 1283, and one case with an unknown infection route was classified as case 1284.
The 2 confirmed cases in Sacheon, classified as cases 1275 and 1276, were both participants in a university volunteer program.
The single confirmed case in Geoje, classified as case 1277, is a family member of case 1260.
The confirmed case in Hadong, classified as case 1278, is related to the Hadong cluster outbreak, bringing the total number of confirmed cases related to this cluster to 19.
The confirmed case in Haman, classified as case 1279, is the spouse of case 1263.
The confirmed case in Gimhae, classified as case 1282, tested positive after contact with a confirmed case in Busan.
Accordingly, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in the province has risen to 1,281 (278 hospitalized, 999 discharged, 4 deceased).
