Mayor of Changwon Navigates Smoothly with 72.91% Fulfillment Rate of 7th Term Election Promises
2020 Second Half Pledge Implementation Strategy Meeting Held, Urging Accelerated Pledge Progress
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Sharon] Changwon City, Gyeongnam Province announced on the 29th that it held an online video meeting for the second half of 2020 pledge implementation strategy report.
About 30 participants including Mayor Heo Seong-mu, heads of departments, bureaus, and offices attended.
The report meeting was organized to review the overall major achievements and progress of pledges during the first 2 years and 5 months of the 7th local government term, and to have in-depth discussions on improvement and development plans for some projects with relatively low implementation rates.
As a result of promoting pledge projects to achieve the 7th local government administration goal of "People-centered New Changwon," as of the end of November this year, 35 out of 74 pledges have been completed, showing an implementation rate of 72.91%, indicating smooth progress.
The pledges completed in the second half of this year include a total of 13 projects such as ▲ Establishment of the Changwon Welfare Foundation ▲ Opening of Content Korea Lab and Webtoon Campus ▲ Additional creation of three regional (Uichang Buk-myeon, Seongsan Seongju, Masan Hoewon Naeseo) children's forest experience centers ▲ Opening of Changdong Street Night Market.
The city plans to complete major citizen-experience projects such as ▲ Reduction of Machang Bridge toll ▲ Additional construction of soccer fields in Masan area ▲ Creation of a park golf course exclusively for seniors within the term.

Mayor Heo said, "Although it is a difficult time for everyone due to COVID-19, next year is the practical last year of the 7th local government term," and added, "Since pledge projects are promises to citizens, I hope all departments will focus their administrative power to complete the implementation of all pledges except mid- to long-term projects by the end of next year."
