Sunchon National University Department of Aerospace Engineering Wins Award at National Capstone Design Competition Hosted by the Korean Society for Aeronautical and Space Systems
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon National University (President Ko Young-jin) announced on the 29th that a research team composed of students majoring in Aerospace Engineering (Advisor Professor Lee Hee-nam) won the CEO Award from Hanwha Aerospace Co., Ltd. at the National University Capstone Design Competition.
This competition was organized by the Korean Society for Aeronautical and Space Systems Engineering and sponsored by major domestic aerospace-related institutions such as Hanwha Aerospace, Korea Aviation Safety Technology Institute, LIG Nex1, and Korean Air. The award-winning works were selected through the evaluation of capstone design research reports and paper presentations submitted by 13 universities nationwide.
The Suncheon National University team, consisting of four undergraduate students majoring in Aerospace Engineering (Choi Mogeon, Kim Ji-woong, Go Jeong-hyun, Lee In-gu), under the guidance of Professor Lee Hee-nam, developed a large rocket for microgravity liquid fuel sloshing experiments and successfully conducted a test launch. Their presentation received excellent evaluations, earning them the honor of receiving the CEO Award from Hanwha Aerospace, the largest defense export company in Korea.
