Korea Technology Group Changes Company Name to 'Korea & Company'
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Korea Technology Group has changed its company name to 'Korea & Company.' This comes about 1 year and 7 months after changing its name from Hankook Tire Worldwide to Korea Technology Group in May last year.
Korea Technology Group held an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders on the morning of the 29th and approved the agenda to change the company name. The name change will be applied immediately after the shareholders' meeting resolution, and the new name will be used starting from that day.
Korea Technology Group became embroiled in a naming dispute after Korea Technology, a KOSDAQ-listed company, filed an injunction with the court to prohibit the use of the company name.
The court partially accepted Korea Technology's injunction request in May and recommended not to use the name on signboards, promotional materials, and business plans. Korea Technology Group filed an objection, but the court dismissed it, leading to an appeal.
