Gyeongnam Province Extends Special Interest Rate Support for Pregnant Women’s Preferential Savings Accounts Until 2022
Base Interest Rate + Preferential Interest Rate 1.5%, Support for Childbirth Products Worth 24,000 Won
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Gyeongnam Province announced on the 29th that it has decided to extend the subscription period for the preferential savings account for pregnant women, which was originally limited to the end of December this year, until the end of November 2022.
The preferential savings account product for pregnant women pays the principal with an additional 1.5% preferential interest rate on top of the basic interest rate at maturity, and also provides childbirth supplies worth approximately 24,000 KRW.
This product is available to any pregnant woman or woman within six months after childbirth who has an address in Gyeongnam, and can be subscribed to at NongHyup Bank and local agricultural and livestock cooperatives in the Gyeongnam area.

The maturity period is one year, and free deposits are allowed up to a monthly limit of 500,000 KRW per child (fetus). When subscribing to the product, pregnant women should bring a maternity handbook or pregnancy confirmation certificate, and after childbirth, a birth certificate or family relation certificate is required.
