[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dobong-gu (Mayor Dongjin Lee) has installed wild boar barrier fences to systematically protect and manage wildlife and minimize damage caused by wild animals.
The installation sections are ▲ a 735m section from behind Yosep's House in Banghak-dong to beside a remote house in Dobong-dong ▲ a 400m section from the Catholic Banghak-dong Cemetery in Banghak-dong to behind Pungcheon Eel House in Ui-dong ▲ a 40m section beside Naejasa in Dobong-dong.
This area has frequently experienced wild boar appearances, causing anxiety among residents and continuous damage to crops in weekend farms.
Accordingly, the district invested a total of about 300 million KRW to install 1,275m of barrier fences and 10 signboards from September to December.
In particular, the fence installation was extended from the existing fences installed within the national park.
The district expects that this barrier fence installation will prevent damage caused by wild boar appearances to houses adjacent to Bukhansan National Park and weekend farm gardens, and alleviate residents' anxiety.
In addition, the district operates a mobile capture team to minimize human and property damage caused by wildlife and provides repellents to residents in areas where wildlife frequently appear, making multifaceted efforts.
