Despite the cancellation of the sunrise event, the county expects crowds to gather at Hwangmaesan, a famous sunrise spot, and plans to install protective barriers at the ticket booth entrance and deploy personnel to fully control the entry of vehicles and people.

A county official said, “With about 1,000 new COVID-19 cases daily, this measure was taken to prevent the spread of the virus,” adding, “We ask for your cooperation in refraining from visiting tourist attractions during the year-end and New Year period and actively supporting government policies.”
