'Industry-Academia-Government United to Make Yangsan a Digital Logistics Hub'
'Yangsan-si Digital Logistics R&D Promotion Team' Officially Launched, National Funding Application to Begin in January

View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Yangsan City, Gyeongnam Province announced on the 29th that it will launch the "Yangsan City Digital Logistics R&D Promotion Team (hereinafter referred to as the Promotion Team)" composed of related experts with the vision of becoming a "digital innovation logistics city hub" and will begin full-scale project preparations starting in January.
The Promotion Team is the core organization that will lead Yangsan's digital logistics R&D projects. Administrative support is provided by Yangsan City, technical development support involves the Korea IoT Blockchain Technology Research Association, SI specialist company K-One Information & Communication, and Star Labs in the cloud and software development fields. Talent cultivation, industry-academia cooperation, and technical advisory support are handled by Yeungsan University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation and Seoul National University Blockchain Technology Research Lab.
The city is a region equipped with logistics infrastructure such as an inland container depot and a multimodal cargo terminal. It views the logistics industry as a new growth engine to create future local economic resources and actively promotes convergence logistics R&D projects that incorporate advanced 4th industrial revolution technologies such as IoT and blockchain.
Starting from January next year, through the full-scale operation of the Promotion Team, the city plans to meticulously prepare project planning such as building an integrated digital logistics information management platform, managing cargo status information, and establishing a real-time monitoring system. The goal is to secure national funding next year by steadily responding to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s public project calls and to develop into a smart logistics city.
