Kim Bong-hyun and Lee Kang-se face confrontation interrogation... "Testimony on passport lobbying due to prosecutor's intense questioning"

[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] Kim Bong-hyun, former chairman of Star Mobility (46, currently detained), who exposed allegations of 'prosecutor and political lobbying' as a key figure in the Lime Asset Management scandal, underwent a confrontation investigation with Lee Kang-se, former CEO of Star Mobility and former president of Gwangju MBC, regarding lobbying allegations involving ruling party politicians.
On the 28th, Kim released a statement through his lawyer, saying, "Regarding the investigation into lobbying allegations involving ruling party politicians, I underwent a confrontation investigation with former CEO Lee Kang-se at the prosecution on the 21st," and added, "It was concluded that no one admitted to giving money or lobbying ruling party politicians."
Previously, in his first prison letter dated October 16, Kim claimed that the prosecution induced statements about lobbying of ruling party figures through a 'fabricated investigation' and did not investigate lobbying allegations involving opposition politicians and prosecutors.
He stated, "At that meeting, CEO Lee testified that he was reprimanded by prosecutors during the investigation," and added, "Lee said that the prosecutors who previously investigated him pressured him as if the facts were already confirmed, saying 'Kim has already confessed everything, so you should confess everything too,' which led to statements that were different from the truth."
Kim also said, "Lee claimed that he believed I had testified to the prosecution with the same content as him," and added, "Lee is currently involved in a legal dispute over the management rights of Star Mobility and is opposed to me, so there is no reason for him to make false statements with the same intent."
Kim’s side further explained, "The matters related to ruling party politicians are unrelated to Lime and date back about five years ago, and the amounts involved were very insignificant," and added, "The amounts currently mentioned in investigations involving opposition politicians are in the hundreds of millions of won, intended to curry favor with the prosecution to cover up the Lime scandal."

Finally, Kim requested that if necessary, evidence related to this matter be disclosed or submitted to the newly established Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials (CIO), hoping that it will be revealed that prosecutors have conducted unfair investigations concerning ruling party politicians.
