Muan-gun, Creating a Business-Friendly City
Leading Efforts in Implementing Various New Policies and Actively Attracting Businesses
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) announced on the 28th that it has promoted various corporate support policies throughout the year, including smart factory support projects, Jeonnam-type small giant company development, and a one-company-one-manager system.
The county, in collaboration with Jeonnam Technopark, has promoted the smart factory dissemination and expansion project to innovate manufacturing and enhance competitiveness of local small and medium-sized enterprises, supporting 4 companies in the region with 700 million KRW (including national and provincial funds) this year.
Through this project, concrete results such as increased sales, improved quality, and reduced industrial accidents were achieved, and next year, 4 companies will be selected to actively promote the project.
In addition, promising small and medium-sized enterprises with growth will and potential are being selected and nurtured as Jeonnam-type small giant companies to leap into global small giants. Haesong Co., Ltd., located in the Illo Industrial Complex, was selected as a project target and achieved positive results such as sales of 8.8 billion KRW and increased employment despite the downturn in the shipbuilding industry.
Furthermore, to open sales channels for excellent local SME products, support was provided for domestic SME exhibitions (fairs), where 10 companies held 191 consultations and signed contracts worth 41 million KRW. A promotional booklet containing investment environment and corporate support policies was published and distributed to related organizations nationwide and expatriates.
In addition to various support policies, a one-company-one-manager system was implemented, where county officials at the team leader level or higher directly visited companies to listen to various opinions and difficulties of enterprises, resolving 29 suggestions.
