Jeongeup-si Announces Pilot Project for New Technologies in Rural Development Field Next Year
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeongeup City, Jeonbuk Province announced on the 28th that it will promote the 2021 New Technology Demonstration Project in the Rural Development Sector targeting leading farmers in the region to support local agricultural development and increase farmers' income.
The 2021 New Technology Demonstration Project in the Rural Development Sector consists of a total of 53 projects, with a project budget of 3.365 billion KRW including self-contributions planned to be invested.
The technology support sector projects include 22 projects such as the "Regional Specialty Agriculture Discovery and Commercialization Project," the "Promising Local Resource Tourism Commercialization Project Supporting Next-Generation Farmers with New Technology Integration," and the "Agricultural Drone Professional Certification Class."
The resource development sector includes 31 projects such as the "Special Rice Commercialization Technology Demonstration Project," the "Smart Nutrient Supply Technology Demonstration Project Based on External Environment Data," and the "Early Selection Technology Demonstration Project for Excellent Hanwoo Cows."
The application deadline for the projects is January 22 of next year.
Applicants can receive application forms at their local eup, myeon, or dong community service centers or from the Jeongeup Agricultural Technology Center website, fill them out, and submit them along with the required documents to the eup, myeon, or dong community service centers.
Eligible demonstration project applicants must be farmers residing in the region, have no outstanding local taxes or non-tax revenues, and the planned project site and buildings must not be under collateral.
Additionally, applicants must not have had any subsidy decisions canceled due to improper receipt of local subsidies within the past five years.

An official from the Agricultural Technology Center stated, "Since various demonstration projects have been developed for the advancement of agriculture and rural areas in 2021, we ask that qualified farmers show great interest and apply so that the projects can be successfully carried out."
