According to Daejeon City on the 28th, the 495th confirmed patient in Daejeon (confirmed on November 30) died 27 days after confirmation while receiving inpatient treatment at Chungnam National University Hospital.
Health authorities believe that this patient died due to pneumonia worsening caused by COVID-19 infection.
The 495th patient in Daejeon was an elderly patient in their 70s with underlying conditions such as hypertension and diabetes before hospitalization. They showed symptoms on the 29th of last month and were confirmed positive through a COVID-19 test the following day.
