East Coast Economic Office Begins Leasing Long-Term Rental Complex at Bukpyeong Industrial Complex

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter La Young-cheol] The East Coast Economic Free Zone Authority has begun leasing the long-term rental complex established in the Bukpyeong National Industrial Complex.
Gangwon Province announced on the 28th, "To reduce the cost burden on small and medium-sized enterprises, the rent is supplied at 85 won per square meter per month, and the lease period can be renewed every 10 years for up to 50 years."
The eligible industries for tenancy include all manufacturing sectors. However, pollution-prone industries such as plating, dye, pigment, leather, casting, dyeing, and cement, as well as industries with high water usage, are restricted.
The complex consists of a total of 22 plots covering 22,944 pyeong, with 10 plots of 1,200 pyeong and 12 plots of 700 pyeong. Leasing will be conducted in phases: the first phase includes 5 plots of 1,200 pyeong, the second phase 12 plots of 700 pyeong, and the third phase 5 plots of 1,200 pyeong. Initially, 5 plots of 1,200 pyeong totaling 6,000 pyeong will be leased.

Previously, the long-term rental complex, covering a total area of 75,850㎡ (23,000 pyeong), was developed with Gangwon Province designated as the project developer, investing a total of 1.6 billion won.

Shin Dong-hak, head of the East Coast Economic Free Zone Authority, stated, "We expect that attracting companies to the Bukpyeong District long-term rental complex will greatly contribute to job creation and revitalization of the local economy," adding, "In particular, it is anticipated to serve as a catalyst for establishing a hydrogen cluster by attracting upstream and downstream hydrogen-related companies linked to liquefied hydrogen R&D and the designation of the liquefied hydrogen industry regulatory free zone."
