Two Additional COVID-19 Cases Confirmed in Suncheon City...Total Now 189 Cases
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City announced on the 27th that two additional confirmed cases occurred the previous afternoon.
With this, Suncheon City has reported a total of 189 confirmed cases, including 116 confirmed cases since November 7, among them 2 overseas entrants.
Suncheon case number 188 was confirmed positive while undergoing testing for hospital admission treatment, and the spouse who was tested together received a negative result.
Case number 189 showed symptoms such as cough and sore throat from the 24th, was tested at the health center screening clinic on the 26th, and confirmed positive. This person visited a company located in Seomyeon from the 22nd to the 24th, and restaurants located in Hwangjeon-myeon on the 25th and 26th.
Suncheon City installed a mobile screening clinic at the company in Seomyeon and conducted a full investigation of about 200 employees and their families. Regarding cases 188 and 189, a total of 858 specimens were collected, with 825 testing negative and 33 tests still in progress.

An official from the Suncheon City Health Center stated, “Since the asymptomatic infection rate has reached 38% since November, anyone around us can be infected with COVID-19,” and added, “For the safety of all of us, please conduct religious activities online, and refrain from private gatherings and year-end and New Year’s Eve sunrise and sunset trips.”
