The Beautiful Education Community Award Committee (Chairman Du Jae-kyun) announced the winners of the 2nd Beautiful Education Community Award on the 23rd. The awardees are Kim Jeom-suk, Administrative Director of Jeonju Jeolla Elementary School; Kim Jeong-suk, teacher at Jeonju Deokjin Middle School; Kang Il-soon, principal of Jeonju Ujeon Elementary School; Yoo Young-jin, teacher at Jeonju Munhak Elementary School; Seo Young-suk, educational welfare officer at Namwon Jungang Elementary School; Song Jin-seop, teacher at Namwon Bojeol Middle School; Kang Eun-mi, teacher at Jeongeup Dongsin Elementary School; and Park Jong-geun, teacher at Gunsan Gyeongpo Elementary School, totaling eight individuals.
The Beautiful Education Community Award was established to discover educators who serve as role models in the local community, to awaken respect for teachers, and to instill pride and fulfillment in educators. The award is presented by the 'Beautiful Education Community Award Committee,' composed of about 20 members including educators, parents, and civic activists.
The recipients were comprehensively evaluated based on their activities and field investigations among teachers who received recommendations from more than 30 students, teachers, and parents.
Kim Jeom-suk, Administrative Director of Jeonju Jeolla Elementary School, worked to improve the aging school environment and educational facilities and helped facilitate smooth school operations through staff harmony and budget savings.
Kang Il-soon, principal of Jeonju Ujeon Elementary School, inspired students to dream of the global stage through dedicated English education and English volunteer activities.
Yoo Young-jin, vice principal of Jeonju Munhak Elementary School, fostered healthy children through lunchtime athletics guidance, leading to overall victory in the Jeonju Education Superintendent's Cup Athletics Competition as well as awards in provincial and national competitions.
Kang Eun-mi, teacher at Jeongeup Dongsin Elementary School, worked to establish the school culture of the innovation school and operated a creativity- and character-centered curriculum.
Song Jin-seop, teacher at Namwon Bojeol Middle School, was recommended by students, local residents, and parents, and has contributed to community education and the establishment of educational network environments within the region.
Seo Young-suk, educational welfare officer in Namwon, is well-known as a respected educator both inside and outside the region, having proposed scholarship sponsorships for low-income students.
Park Jong-geun, teacher at Gunsan Gyeongpo Elementary School, has voluntarily conducted auditorium physical activities for students who do not attend private academies and has worked hard in various student guidance activities.
