'Mary K-mas' Day 3 Sales Reach 9.9 Billion KRW
Live Commerce Held 8 Times on the 23rd
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (Minister Park Young-sun, hereinafter referred to as the Ministry) announced on the 23rd that the 'Merry K-mas Live Market,' which has been ongoing since the 19th, achieved total sales of 9.94 billion KRW on its third day through live commerce, online exhibitions, and TV home shopping.
Live commerce, offering discounts of up to 50%, recorded sales of 110 million KRW by selling items such as dakgalbi (spicy stir-fried chicken), dwaejigalbi (pork ribs), and sock sets on five private collaboration channels including the 'Gachi Sapsida' platform, Naver, Wemakeprice, 11st, Lotte 100Live, and Grip.
Major shopping malls such as Gachi Sapsida, Coupang, Gmarket, Interpark, and the Onnuri traditional market online section sold dried squid and rice, generating sales of 970 million KRW, while TV home shopping sold products like Babdodukjang and tissue paper, achieving sales of 8.86 billion KRW.
On the fifth day of the event, the 23rd, a total of eight live commerce sessions will be held on Gachi Sapsida and five private collaboration platforms. Minister Park Young-sun of the Ministry stated, "We will actively support non-face-to-face and online sales for small and medium-sized enterprises and small business owners through the Merry K-mas Live Market."
