Gwangyang City Wins 'Best Award' in Jeollanam-do Investment Attraction Evaluation This Year
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Gwangyang City announced that it received the 'Best Award in Jeollanam-do Investment Attraction Evaluation for this Year' at the Jeollanam-do Job and Investment Attraction Festival held the previous day.
This evaluation selected outstanding institutions by assessing the performance of 22 cities and counties in Jeollanam-do across a total of 8 items in 3 categories: investment attraction achievements, creation of investment attraction conditions, and general investment attraction administration.
This year, Gwangyang City achieved remarkable results by attracting a total investment of 1.3742 trillion KRW from 34 companies, including a joint investment of 145.9 billion KRW by POSCO Chemical and OCI Co., Ltd., creating 970 jobs.
These results were made possible by the firm will and passion of the Gwangyang mayor and related officials working as one to attract companies. Factors contributing to the success included turning all employees into investment attraction agents, expanding corporate support through ordinance amendments, and providing investment attraction incentives.
Jung Hyun-bok, mayor of Gwangyang City, said, "We are very pleased that Gwangyang City received the Best Award," and expressed gratitude to the businesspeople who invested in the city.
