Kim Ki-hyun "Cheong Wa Dae, Stop Politicizing Vaccines... Is There Any Political Issue More Important Than Vaccines?"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Kim Ki-hyun, a member of the People Power Party, rebutted the Blue House's announcement to "stop politicizing vaccines," saying, "Is there any political issue more important than vaccines?"
On the 23rd, Kim said on Facebook, "Isn't the most important and urgent issue for the people right now the vaccine?"
He criticized Blue House spokesperson Kang Min-seok's statement the day before asking to "stop politicizing vaccines," calling it "absurd," and pointed out, "The most important responsibility entrusted to politicians by the people is to protect the lives and property of the people, and the most important responsibility given to the president, a political office, is also to protect the lives and property of the people."
Kim said, "The president has been very negligent in securing vaccines so far, and the people are in great fear not even knowing when vaccines will be properly secured in the future, yet they say not to politicize vaccines," and added, "and the person making such a demand is the Blue House spokesperson. Is this person sane?"
He criticized, "Is it enough to just say a few words telling people to pay attention to vaccines? To dare to utter such rude and irresponsible words in front of people suffering all kinds of pain is a grave sin that requires an apology."
Kim pointed out, "The Moon Jae-in administration's budget proposal submitted to the National Assembly for next year did not originally include a separate budget for vaccine purchase and inoculation," and added, "It was only after our People Power Party demanded budget inclusion that the related budget was finally reflected in the National Assembly."
He added, "If the president insisted that vaccines were so important, why was there no vaccine purchase budget at all in the government budget proposal? Just looking at next year's government budget proposal shows that the government thought lightly of vaccine purchase and inoculation, and was only eager to promote K-quarantine as the president's own achievement."

Kim said, "Strangely, you invited the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and the President of the Constitutional Court, who are involved in administrative lawsuits and constitutional complaints between Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-youl and the president, as well as the chairman of the election commission who will soon oversee the by-elections, to a Blue House meeting," and added, "I am just curious why you held that meeting and what progress was made there regarding vaccine procurement."
