Gangseo-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Noh Hyun-song) announced that it delivered Christmas gifts that vulnerable children can enjoy at home with their families ahead of Christmas.
By the 21st, the district delivered ‘cake kits’ and ‘snack house kits’ to all 248 households of children under Dream Start case management.
This event was held under the theme “Give the gift of joy this Christmas!” to help children, who have been unable to go outside and have spent more time at home due to the COVID-19 pandemic, overcome feelings of depression and frustration and have a happy year-end.
The children who received the kits create cakes and snack houses with their families, building happy memories, and then share joy by gifting and eating the completed cakes and snack houses together with their families.
The district plans to collect photos and reviews of the cakes and snack houses completed by the children by the 28th, and select 60 children who participated sincerely for the ‘Dream Start Family Joy Award,’ giving them mobile gift certificates worth about 30,000 KRW.
A district official said, “Through this event, we hope Dream Start children will cherish happy Christmas memories and nurture precious dreams and hopes,” adding, “We will continue to promote various projects that can bring small joys and happiness to children.”
