Naju City to Intensify Nighttime Truck Parking Crackdown Starting Next Year
[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Naju City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Kang In-gyu) announced on the 22nd that starting from January next year, it will conduct crackdowns on overnight parking of cargo trucks outside designated garages.
The crackdown targets cargo and passenger vehicles parked overnight for more than one hour between 12:00 AM and 4:00 AM on roadsides, vacant lots, or other locations not registered as garages when the commercial vehicle license was issued.
Violations will result in a suspension of operation for 5 days or a fine of up to 200,000 KRW in accordance with the Cargo Truck and Passenger Vehicle Transport Business Act.
The city will strengthen enforcement mainly in areas with high risk of traffic accidents and densely populated areas such as apartment complexes and residential neighborhoods.
The public cargo truck garage has a total of 341 parking spaces (18 extra-large, 198 large, 125 small) and is equipped with vehicle maintenance facilities, car wash, fitness room, shower rooms, and other amenities.
Large cargo trucks can use the facility for 50,000 KRW per month, and small cargo trucks for 20,000 KRW per month.
