[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-ho] The Daegu Metropolitan City Talent Development Scholarship Foundation (Chairman Jang Se-cheol), established by the Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education, announced on the 22nd that it has awarded scholarships totaling over 334 million KRW to 385 elementary, middle, and high school students selected as year-end scholarship recipients.
The year-end scholarships awarded this time include ▲ Academic Excellence Scholarships for Low-Income Students (60 students) ▲ Dinner Support Scholarships for 3rd Year Humanities High School Students (73 students) ▲ SOS Scholarships (50 students) ▲ Volunteer Service Scholarships (6 students) ▲ Science and Arts Talent Scholarships (20 students) ▲ Sports Talent Scholarships (10 students) ▲ Scholarships for Overcoming Academic Dropout Crisis (89 students) ▲ Kim Jong-il Character Scholarships (12 students) ▲ Yeomsaek Industrial Complex Scholarships (40 students) ▲ Integrated School Scholarships (25 students), among others.
Earlier this year, in the first half, scholarships totaling 243.6 million KRW were awarded to 486 students and one school. In total, in 2020, scholarships amounting to over 577 million KRW were given to 871 students and one school.
Since its establishment at the end of 2013, the Daegu Talent Development Scholarship Foundation has supported 2,478 students, 35 schools, and 11 organizations with scholarships totaling 1.66 billion KRW as of December 2020. In 2021, the foundation plans to expand the scope of the 'Daegu Education Talent Development Scholarship' and introduce a new 'Kindergarten Multi-Child Scholarship.'
