Recruitment of Participating Companies for Gwangju Nam-gu 'Digital New Deal Youth Job Project'
Applications accepted until January 4 next year... 20 companies expected to be selected
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Kim Byeong-nae) announced on the 22nd that it will publicly recruit participating companies for the ‘Digital New Deal Youth Job Growth Project’ to resolve manpower shortages in companies utilizing non-face-to-face digital technology and to improve accessibility to digital and eco-friendly related jobs for local youth.
Starting next year, the Digital New Deal Youth Job Growth Project, promoted as a region-led youth employment project, is designed to provide youth with opportunities for education, training, and job experience to adapt to the changing employment environment amid the worsening youth employment crisis caused by COVID-19.
Companies employing youth will receive support of up to 1.8 million KRW per month (90% of labor costs).
Eligible companies for participation in the Digital New Deal Youth Job Growth Project are those located in Nam-gu with plans to newly hire full-time employees for positions utilizing IT technology.
Nam-gu plans to select 20 companies, and the recruitment of participating companies will continue until January 4th of next year.
The selection of participating companies will go through a first round of document screening and a second round of on-site inspection assessing job expertise and working environment, with individual notifications expected around the end of February.
Companies wishing to participate in the public recruitment can submit related documents via email by the deadline or visit the Innovation Policy Division on the 6th floor of Nam-gu Office to apply in person.

A Nam-gu official stated, “We will do our best to promote the project to create quality youth jobs suitable for the 4th Industrial Revolution, support sustainable economic activities to strengthen youth job competencies, and connect them to employment in private companies.”
