Founded in 1980, the Gyeongbuk Women's Association currently consists of 23 provincial member organizations and 23 cooperative organizations (cities and counties). To practice sharing with neighbors in need in the region, it also joined the Sharing Leaders Club on this day.
The Sharing Leaders Club is a donor club operated by the Social Welfare Community Chest. Organizations and clubs can join by pledging to donate 10 million won within three years.
In March, the Gyeongbuk Women's Association donated 10 million won to support overcoming COVID-19. In August, it also sent relief supplies worth about 20 million won to residents in the areas affected by the heavy rains in Jeonnam, continuing steady donations.
Hong Soon-im, president of the Gyeongbuk Women's Association, said, "There are many neighbors around us who need a helping hand," adding, "As the year ends, I hope that the region's neighbors in difficulty can spend at least a warm winter."
