Sejong-si, Additional Screening Clinics Installed and Diagnostic Testing Strengthened
[Asia Economy (Sejong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Sejong City is taking measures to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) within the region by additionally installing screening clinics and strengthening diagnostic testing.
The city announced on the 21st that it will operate additional screening clinics in the new urban area to quickly identify asymptomatic infected individuals and block the transmission of COVID-19 within the community.
The screening clinic will be additionally installed at the Eojin-dong Complex Community Center and will be operational from today. At this location, diagnostic testing will be conducted in a drive-through manner, where citizens move their vehicles to the center’s parking lot and have specimens collected inside their cars.
The newly established screening clinic in Eojin-dong will conduct diagnostic tests (by appointment) targeting residents of the new urban eastern area and Janggun and Geumnam-myeon.
Considering the recent nationwide occurrence of small-scale cluster infections in nursing and psychiatric hospitals and facilities, the city plans to adjust the diagnostic testing interval from every 4 weeks to every 2 weeks.
Previously, from last month to the present, the city completed 1,157 preliminary diagnostic tests targeting 32 local nursing and psychiatric hospitals and facilities.
