Muan City Promotion Committee Urges "Gwangju Metropolitan Mayor Must Keep Promise to Relocate Airport"
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] The Muan City Promotion Committee (Chairman Lee Soo-yong) issued a statement regarding the press conference held by the Mayor of Gwangju Metropolitan City, who reversed the agreement to relocate and integrate Gwangju Civil Airport regardless of the relocation of Gwangju Military Airport.
According to Muan County, the committee issued a statement at Muan County Office on the 21st, urging the immediate implementation of the civil airport integration process in accordance with the 2018 Muan International Airport Revitalization Agreement.
They expressed strong regret that the relocation of the civil airport, which should be carried out by next year according to the government's basic aviation policy plan and the 2018 Muan International Airport Revitalization Agreement, separate from the military airport issue, was reversed by Gwangju Metropolitan City through the proposal of a four-party consultative body, despite the civil airport integration having already been decided as a national policy.
