'Black Money' Wins Best Film Award at the Korean Film Producers Association
Best Actor: Jo Jin-woong & Kim Hee-ae... Best Director: Woo Min-ho for 'Namsan's Chief'
The film 'Black Money' won the Korean Film Producers Association (KFP) Best Film Award.
On the 21st, the KFP awarded the top prize to this work, describing it as "a special and outstanding film that adapted a television investigative program subject into a popular movie." They said, "It vividly and dramatically visualized the complex aspects of a financial scandal involving foreign private equity funds and current and former domestic ministers."
'Black Money' also won two awards, with Jo Jin-woong receiving Best Actor. The KFP stated, "He portrayed a diligent public prosecutor who devotes himself to uncovering the conspiracy and truth behind the case with a sincere and instinctive performance." The Best Actress award went to Kim Hee-ae for 'Moonlit Winter' (Yoon Hee-ege). The KFP commented, "She delicately expressed the joys and sorrows of love and life faced by a middle-aged woman with sensitive emotional acting."
The Best Director award was given to Woo Min-ho for 'The Man Standing Next' (Namsan-ui Bujangdeul). The KFP praised, "He skillfully captured the full story of the assassination of a sitting president from the perpetrator's perspective in the psychological thriller genre."
'Lucky Chan-sil' (Chansil-i-neun Bokdo Manhji) won Best Screenplay (Kim Cho-hee) and Best Supporting Actress (Youn Yuh-jung). Best Supporting Actor went to Shin Jung-geun for 'Steel Rain 2: Summit' (Gangcheolbi 2: Jeongsang Hoedam), and Best Cinematography was awarded to Hong Kyung-pyo for 'Deliver Us from Evil' (Daman Akeseo Guhasoseo). Best Lighting went to Bae Il-hyuk for 'Deliver Us from Evil,' Best Art Direction to Jo Hwa-sung and Park Kyu-bin for 'The Man Standing Next,' Best Editing to Han Mi-yeon for 'Beasts Clawing at Straws' (Jipuragi-rado Japgo Sipeun Jimseungdeul), Best Music to Kim Tae-sung for 'Kim Ji-young, Born 1982,' Best Sound to Kim Seok-won for 'Peninsula' (Bando), and Technical Award to Jeong Do-an and Yoon Hyeong-tae for 'Peninsula.'

The films considered for this year's awards were 162 feature films released from October last year to September this year. The KFP stated, "We focused on whether the planning and production intentions were well realized and how much the diversity of films was expanded during the judging process."
