The 'Future-type Educational Autonomy Cooperation District' is a project selected by the Ministry of Education to establish a sustainable local education cooperation system between education offices and local governments, enabling the development of excellent models tailored to regional characteristics, providing up to 150 million KRW per year for up to three years.
Since 2015, the district has been operating the Seodaemun Innovation Education District to allow local youth to freely develop their dreams and talents.
Through this, despite difficulties caused by social distancing this year, the district quickly responded to the voices from the education field by distributing online devices to schools, installing wireless internet networks, and pilot-operating the Digital Tutor project to support online classes.
In particular, the fact that all projects and programs were promoted jointly by the public, private, and academic sectors received favorable evaluations during the Ministry of Education's screening process.
Taking the selection as a Future Education District as an opportunity, the district will promote new projects in the new year based on the existing foundation, including ▲ the 'Pan' project to revitalize education governance at the dong (neighborhood) level ▲ the 'Sangsanghara' school support project in cooperation with the community ▲ the expanded version of the Saturday Dong School, a school-community cooperation project supporting blind spots in online classes ▲ and the Dalpaengi School for student psychological and emotional support.
