Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Selected as an Excellent Local Government by the Ministry of Health for 'Expansion of Dementia Facilities'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 21st that it was selected as an excellent local government in the Ministry of Health and Welfare's '2020 Public Dementia Specialized Nursing Facility Expansion Evaluation.'
During the 7th local government term, Gwangsan-gu has been striving to prepare for the increase in dementia population and strengthen public responsibility with the goal of 'dementia cared for by the local community.'
At the end of last year, it established a plan to expand public dementia specialized nursing facilities, and is currently undergoing related administrative procedures such as design competitions, aiming for completion in 2022.
The Ministry of Health is known to have given high marks in this evaluation for Gwangsan-gu's fair promotion of site acquisition and design competition processes for the facilities.
