Jeongeup-si, Promotion of Urban Master Plan and Management Plan Revision Project
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jae-gil] Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk announced on the 21st that it will undertake the "Jeongeup City Basic Plan and Urban Management Plan Reorganization Project" to ensure planned urban management and efficiently respond to future development demands.
The city basic plan is a comprehensive plan that presents the basic spatial structure and long-term development direction of the city and serves as a guideline for establishing the urban management plan.
Additionally, the reorganization of the urban management plan is a statutory plan that reviews the overall feasibility every five years regarding ▲designation and changes of use districts and zones ▲installation, maintenance, and improvement of infrastructure ▲decisions and changes in district unit plan areas, based on the city basic plan.
This project will be promoted starting next year and targets the entire administrative area of Jeongeup City, covering 692.77㎢ (1 eup, 14 myeon, 8 dong).
The basic plan aims for 20 years ahead, and the management plan targets 10 years ahead, seeking directions for the development of Jeongeup City as a central city in the southwestern region of Jeonbuk.
The reorganization of the urban management plan comprehensively reviews changes in use districts for the realization of the urban spatial structure and residents' complaints by living zones.
It also aims to establish a reasonable plan by maintaining and improving irrational urban infrastructure and preparing efficient urban development measures.
Along with this, the city plans to realistically estimate the planned population indicators by living zones according to the urban spatial structure and explore feasible development plans for undeveloped areas.
The city will fully review citizens' opinions through public hearings and public inspections, and after administrative procedures such as consultations with related departments and agencies and deliberations by the Urban Planning Committee, it plans to finalize and announce the plan by the end of 2022.
