View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Gimhae City in Gyeongnam announced on the 21st that the newly announced noise contour map of Gimhae International Airport shows that the area affected by noise increased 2.5 times to 12.11㎢, and the affected population increased 9.8 times to 74,056 compared to the past.
As the announcement of the noise contour map, which was completed in December last year, was delayed, the city and the city council requested the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Busan Regional Aviation Administration to expedite the announcement, resulting in the first announcement in 16 years since 2004.
With this announcement, areas included in the noise countermeasure zone with noise levels of 75 WECPNL or higher will receive support such as soundproofing and cooling facilities, and resident support projects will also be carried out for newly included Naeoe-dong and Hoehyeon-dong.
Based on this result, the city requested Korea Airports Corporation to redistribute the resident support project funds of Busan City and Gimhae City for 2021, and plans to implement additional projects depending on the outcome.
