Jeonnam Police Launch Special Security Operations for Year-End and New Year Period
Creating a Peaceful Year-End and New Year Atmosphere Through Proactive and Preventive Police Activities
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] The Jeonnam Provincial Police Agency announced that it will carry out a 14-day "Year-end and New Year Special Security Operation" from the 21st of this month to January 3rd of next year to ensure that residents can spend a safe and peaceful year-end and New Year.
During this special security operation period, visible crime prevention activities will be focused on vulnerable areas, and responses to major crimes that significantly affect the sense of safety will be strengthened.
To this end, the agency has mobilized maximum available personnel including local police, detectives, and permanent squads to strengthen proactive prevention activities through visible patrols and detective work in vulnerable areas such as entertainment districts, financial institutions, and workplaces with single night shifts.
In particular, in response to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, strict measures will be taken against crimes infringing on ordinary citizens' lives such as extortion, organized crime, and drunken violence, as well as violent violations of quarantine rules including obstruction of official duties related to quarantine.
Furthermore, the police will support victims' return to daily life by recovering stolen property and protecting victims' safety, and will promote the recovery of a healthy community through warm police activities by coordinating with local governments to connect various social security systems for vulnerable groups such as the poor and the sick.
