Youth aging out of care are adolescents who must leave childcare facilities after turning 18, numbering about 2,600 annually. These youths, who are taking their first steps into society and must stand on their own, face insufficient related support and a lack of social awareness.
Accordingly, KTH and the KT Group Hope Sharing Foundation donated 55 million KRW from sales proceeds generated by the K Shopping program ‘Value & Together’ to the Seoul Child Joint Living Home Support Center (Group Home). This will be used as self-reliance funds for youths scheduled to leave 53 group homes in the Seoul area. KT M-House also participated in the donation ceremony, expanding employee involvement. In addition, KTH produced a video to raise social awareness about youth aging out of care and conducted a social media (SNS) campaign.
Furthermore, KTH delivered rice and daily necessities accumulated through the employee participation campaign ‘Healthy GIVE,’ which links employees’ muscle gain, body fat reduction, and step count to donations, to Seoul city group homes. KTH has continued the ‘Healthy GIVE’ campaign for three consecutive years, with about 180 employees participating annually, establishing a culture of donating to the local community as well as improving health.
