View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-ho] Gyeongbuk Province announced the winning entries of this year's "Youth Drawing and Poster Contest," held annually since 2013 for youth from five Northeast Asian countries, organized by the Secretariat of the Northeast Asian Regional Local Governments Association (NEAR), on the 21st.
Despite the spread of COVID-19, a record-high total of 323 entries were submitted from 28 NEAR member organizations across five countries: South Korea, China, Japan, Mongolia, and Russia.
After evaluation by five external experts, the Grand Prize was awarded to Mr. Chaozi, a student at Huangchang High School in Longshan County, Hunan Province, China, for his work titled The Dignity of Jema (梯瑪). Additionally, 4 Excellence Awards, 15 Encouragement Awards, and 131 Honorable Mentions were selected, totaling 151 awardees.
Winners will receive certificates signed by the NEAR Secretary-General along with prizes. All participants will be sent a participation certificate featuring a photo of their submitted work and the NEAR logo. The winning works will be exhibited at the Gyeongbuk Provincial Office and the Gyeongbuk Office of Education Cultural Center.

Kim Ok-chae, Secretary-General of NEAR, who hosted the event, emphasized, "The fact that twice as many works as in previous years were submitted despite the severe restrictions on international exchanges due to COVID-19 reflects the strong desire for cultural exchange among Northeast Asian youth."
