CU, From Wine to Steak... Introducing Christmas Home Party Products
Customers are purchasing home party-related products at CU Seolleung store ahead of Christmas.
View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] CU has planned this year’s Christmas season products as small-sized items suitable for 2 to 3 people, in line with the social atmosphere of refraining from large gatherings and meetings of more than one household due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
First, for home party food, CU is launching the ‘Cube Steak Platter’ and ‘Roll Yubu Sushi Platter,’ which can create a restaurant atmosphere with just microwave cooking.
The Cube Steak Platter is composed of a variety of items including tender bite-sized grilled steak, grilled vegetables, pumpkin salad, and fried shrimp. The Yubu Sushi Platter is generously packed with CU’s bestsellers, smoked salmon and avocado roll sushi, and yubu sushi, enough for two adults to eat comfortably.
Wine, an essential for parties, is also offered with a price discount event so that customers can enjoy benefits even by purchasing just one bottle. CU has designated the period until the 31st as ‘CU Wine Super Week’ and is conducting a large-scale discount event simultaneously at the wine shop corner of the membership app ‘Pocket CU’ and offline stores.
On Pocket CU, about 10 kinds of premium wines such as Australian red wine Penfolds Max’s Promise Shiraz, Riesling wine Kalleh Erbes Cabernet Magnum, and sparkling wine Vignerons de Buxy Cr?mant Ros? are sold at up to 49% discounted prices.
At stores, from 9 PM to 1 AM, mid-priced wines in the 10,000 to 20,000 KRW range such as Ancien Tant Cabernet Shiraz, Alpaca Cabernet Merlot, and Roche Mazet C?tes du Rh?ne are sold at a 30% discount. The popular table wine G7 Cabernet Sauvignon can be purchased for about 6,000 KRW with the discount benefit.
Limited edition cakes and desserts are also introduced. CU is releasing a total of 13 Christmas cakes, including the ‘Dwaejiba Cake’ collaborated with Lotte Food’s popular ice cream Dwaejiba, the ‘Kakuball Cake’ topped with crispy cocoa cookie balls and marshmallows, as well as ice cream cakes from premium ice cream brands H?agen-Dazs and Naturru.
Additionally, for home-staying desserts that can be enjoyed throughout the year-end, ‘Home Party Chewy Macarons’ and ‘Home Party Brownies’ are sold as Christmas packages.
Customers who prefer online shopping can prepare restaurant-style course meals at home through Hello Nature.
Hello Nature has prepared over 70 products including premium ingredients for appetizer salads such as Iberico sausage and edible flowers, first-grade Korean beef T-bone aged by water-aging method, and Jeju pork French rack, which is said to be tastier than beef, for high-quality main dishes.
For desserts, it introduces Christmas season limited products such as Italy’s traditional bread Panettone and Our Bakery’s Dirty Choco Stollen. Various snacks like charcuterie, cheese, and gambas al ajillo, along with about 20 kinds of beverages that can be paired with them, are also available in one place.
In particular, Hello Nature offers a 20% discount for purchases over 50,000 KRW throughout December, and an additional discount of up to 8,000 KRW is available when paying with ChaiPay, enabling more reasonable shopping.
