Hamyang County Council Confirms 524 Billion KRW Budget for Hamyang County Next Year
219 Billion KRW (4.37%) Increase from This Year, Focus on COVID-19 Response Economic Stimulus, Successful Expo Hosting, and Expansion of Living SOC
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] The Gyeongnam Hamyang County Council held the 5th plenary session of the 2nd regular meeting of the 259th session and announced on the 21st that the 2021 Hamyang County budget was finalized and approved at a total of 524 billion won, an increase of 21.9 billion won compared to this year.
According to the county, the 2021 budget was prepared focusing on stimulating the local economy in response to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), preparing for the county's next 100 years, successfully hosting the Expo, ensuring the smooth implementation of the 7th local government administration's pledged projects, expanding living SOC projects closely related to residents' daily lives, creating jobs, and strengthening demand-oriented welfare.
By sector, the agriculture, forestry, and marine fisheries sector accounted for the largest portion at 22.59%, 118.3 billion won, followed by social welfare at 101.6 billion won (19.39%), environment at 60.7 billion won (11.58%), land and regional development at 37.4 billion won (7.15%), and culture and tourism at 31 billion won (5.93%).
The major expenditure budgets included 12.4 billion won for the 7th local government administration's pledged projects, 12.4 billion won for resident-requested projects to resolve inconveniences in residents' lives, and 15.9 billion won for promotion and infrastructure construction for the successful hosting of the 2021 Expo.
