20s Sentenced to 3 Years for Sexual Assault of Intoxicated Woman

The Changwon District Court Criminal Division 4 (Chief Judge Lee Heon) announced on the 19th that A (27, male), who was tried on charges of sexually assaulting a drunken woman, was sentenced to 3 years in prison.
Along with this, he was ordered to complete 40 hours of a sexual violence treatment program and was banned from working at child and youth-related institutions and welfare facilities for the disabled for 5 years.
On March 4th, A approached a woman in her 30s who was sleeping on the sofa on the first floor of his house in Changwon, Gyeongnam, kissed her, then laid her on the bed on the second floor and sexually assaulted her.
At the time, the victim was intoxicated and unable to resist, and suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder as a result of this incident.
