The dispatched fire authorities and the Korea Forest Service deployed about 100 personnel, fire trucks, and helicopters to carry out firefighting operations.
They brought the flames under control about an hour after the fire started. So far, no casualties have been confirmed.
The police and fire authorities plan to investigate the extent of the damage and the cause of the fire once the firefighting is completed.

Yoo Jaewon, head of the Provincial Forest and Greenery Division, urged, “In areas adjacent to mountains, please refrain from burning trash or other materials, and if you discover a forest fire, immediately report it to 119 or the city/county forestry department without dialing any prefix.”
