Kim Su-yeon, Kim Il-gu, and Yoon Jin-cheol Recognized as Holders of 'Pansori'
The Cultural Heritage Administration announced on the 18th that Kim Su-yeon (Sugungga), Kim Il-gu, and Yoon Jin-cheol (both Jeokbyeokga) have been recognized as holders of the National Intangible Cultural Property No. 5, 'Pansori.'
Kim Su-yeon learned Sugungga, Simcheongga, Chunhyangga, and others from the late master Kim Jae-kyung, the late holder Park Cho-wol, and the late holder Seong Woo-hyang. In 2007, she became a Pansori (Chunhyangga) transmission education assistant and has been dedicated to preservation activities.
Kim Il-gu is the husband of Kim Young-ja, a holder of Pansori (Simcheongga). He learned singing from his father, the late master Kim Dong-moon, the late master Gong Dae-il, and the late holder Park Bong-sul, and has been active as a Pansori (Jeokbyeokga) transmission education assistant since 1992.

Yoon Jin-cheol learned Jeokbyeokga, Simcheongga, Heungboga, and others from the late teacher Kim Hong-nam, the late holder Kim So-hee, and the late holder Jeong Gwon-jin. He is inheriting the Boseong sori (a Pansori school created by master Jeong Eung-min, who synthesized Seopyeonje and Dongpyeonje styles) Jeokbyeokga and nurturing disciples.
