Gyeongbuk Provincial Office of Education 'Standardizes' Class Autonomy Operating Expenses... 400,000 KRW Support for Classes with 20 or More Students
Existing Individual Approval → Up to 10 Students 200,000 KRW, 10-20 Students 300,000 KRW
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-ho] The Gyeongbuk Provincial Office of Education announced on the 18th that it has prepared a plan to simplify the expenditure procedures for class autonomous operating expenses to reduce the workload of school staff and to operate distinctive classes.
Class autonomous operating expenses include all costs necessary for class management. Support is provided differently for each school according to the average number of students per school. For classes with 10 or fewer students, 200,000 KRW is provided; for classes with 11 to 20 students, 300,000 KRW; and for classes exceeding 20 students, 400,000 KRW is supported.
Previously, each expenditure required separate approval requests as needed, causing inconvenience for schools when executing their budgets.
According to Article 39 of the 'Public School Accounting Regulations,' Gyeongbuk Province allows schools to choose between two methods: paying the homeroom teacher a lump sum in advance and then submitting a settlement report, or making a single batch approval at the beginning of the year by grade (class) and using the institution card as needed.

Superintendent Lim Jong-sik said, "Responding to the difficulties of school members by preparing and implementing a plan to simplify school accounting procedures is a small but significant step," adding, "I hope that supporting class autonomous operating expenses to run distinctive classes in response to the era of school autonomy will serve as an opportunity to create an autonomous school culture through open communication between homeroom teachers and students."
