Shinhan BNP Paribas Asset Management Certified as Government-Designated 'Family-Friendly Company'
[Asia Economy Reporter Minwoo Lee] Shinhan BNP Paribas Asset Management has been selected by the government as a company that pursues work-family balance through support for childbirth and child-rearing.
Shinhan BNPP announced on the 17th that it received the 2020 'Family-Friendly Company' certification from the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family. This achievement came after continuous efforts to create social value internally, following the declaration of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) on September 18, becoming the first comprehensive asset management company to do so.
The Family-Friendly Company certification is a system in which the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family selects and certifies companies that exemplary operate family-friendly systems such as support for childbirth and child-rearing, and flexible work arrangements to support work-family balance.
Previously, Shinhan BNPP designated every Wednesday as Family Day since 2016, before the implementation of the 40-hour workweek, encouraging employees to leave work on time. The company has also promoted the use of parental leave and spouse childbirth leave, and operated leave for health checkup days, fostering a family-friendly atmosphere.
