Samsung Life Service Receives Presidential Citation as an 'Excellent Family-Friendly Company'
Industry's First Remote Work for Customer Service Staff
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] Samsung Life Service announced on the 16th that it received the 'Family-Friendly Excellent Company' Presidential Citation from the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family.
Samsung Life Service was awarded the Presidential Citation in recognition of its successful establishment of a work-family balance culture after receiving the family-friendly company certification from the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family in 2014.
Samsung Life Service, a subsidiary of Samsung Life Insurance, performs outsourced tasks such as call centers, insurance review, and plaza operations. It has supported childbirth and parenting throughout the life cycle with measures such as reduced working hours for pregnant employees and infertility leave, and has implemented flexible work systems such as telecommuting and selectable working hours.
In particular, in April, it became the first in the industry to implement telecommuting for counseling staff, minimizing concerns about group outbreaks of COVID-19 in call centers, and its efforts to prevent and contain the spread were highly evaluated. Additionally, it operates a psychological counseling center for employees exhausted from emotional labor, providing about 1,000 consultations annually, and is gradually expanding welfare programs reflecting employees' opinions, such as family invitation events, parent appreciation tours, child mentoring support, and family glamping events.
