[Asia Economy New York=Correspondent Baek Jong-min] Joe Biden, the President-elect of the United States, has won the Electoral College vote in the presidential election.
According to U.S. media including The Wall Street Journal, as of 5:30 PM local time on the 14th, Biden secured 302 out of 538 Electoral College votes cast statewide across the U.S. President Donald Trump received 232 Electoral College votes.
Contrary to President Donald Trump's claims of election fraud, the Electoral College votes from key battleground states were cast for Biden in accordance with the election results.
Accordingly, Biden is expected to ultimately secure 306 Electoral College votes, defeating President Trump who is projected to have only 232 votes.
Although the Electoral College vote in the U.S. presidential election, which is an indirect election system, usually does not attract much attention, this year it has drawn focus due to President Trump's attempts to overturn the election results.
Biden is scheduled to deliver a speech after the Electoral College vote concludes today.
