Songpa-gu Holds Online Performance Sharing Meeting for Residents' Autonomy Association
On the 28th, Performance Sharing Meeting Held with Video and Materials... 'Garak 1-dong' Selected as Outstanding Neighborhood Among 136 Pilot Neighborhoods in Seoul
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) will hold a performance sharing meeting online on the 28th to share the achievements and best practices of the 2020 Resident Autonomy Committee pilot project.
Over the past two years, the district has accelerated efforts to realize direct democracy with residents by including resident autonomy projects in the pledges of the 7th elected administration.
In June last year, Songpa-gu enacted the ordinance for the establishment and operation of the Resident Autonomy Committee, and officially launched the committee in December of the same year. Currently, a total of 284 members are active in Macheon 2-dong, Bangi 2-dong, Garak 1-dong, Wirye-dong, Jamsil Bon-dong, and Jamsil 4-dong.
This Resident Autonomy Committee performance sharing meeting is a festival to share the various achievements of the resident autonomy projects carried out by residents throughout the year and to spread the value of the Resident Autonomy Committee through communication.
Considering the COVID-19 situation, the district will hold an online sharing meeting by producing videos of the activities and achievements of the six pilot neighborhoods instead of an on-site event.
The videos will feature resident autonomy committee members directly participating in parodies of the drama 'Goblin' and the entertainment program 'Hangout with Yoo?', making resident autonomy easy and fun to understand.
From the 28th, anyone can watch it on the official YouTube channel of the ‘Songpa-gu Resident Autonomy Committee’.
Along with this, the district will produce and distribute a Resident Autonomy Committee booklet. The booklet introduces the status of the Songpa-gu Resident Autonomy Committee and the six pilot neighborhoods, as well as projects planned for next year. It will be distributed to all neighborhoods so that residents in areas where the committee has not been implemented can also learn about the cases through the booklet.
Meanwhile, the district announced that Garak 1-dong was selected as an excellent neighborhood in the agenda implementation category at the performance sharing meeting conducted for 136 neighborhoods operating Resident Autonomy Committees in Seoul.
The Garak 1-dong Resident Autonomy Committee was recognized for its contribution to the local community by promoting psychological quarantine programs for residents in response to COVID-19, such as the ‘World Exotic Coffee Tour’.
