Professor Son Chang-sik of Silla University Receives Busan Mayor's Commendation for Contribution to 'Clean Energy'
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Professor Son Chang-sik of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Silla University received a commendation from the Mayor of Busan for his contributions to the spread of clean energy and the improvement of energy utilization efficiency.
Professor Son contributed to fostering the local energy industry by participating in the establishment of Busan City's Clean Energy Master Plan and the Basic Regional Energy Plan.
He also contributed to the formulation of regional energy policies through advising and suggesting on government energy policies and actively communicating with environmental civic groups.
Professor Son has conducted research in the field of solar power technology, publishing 21 domestic papers and 76 SCI-level papers. He has filed five patents and published two books.
Additionally, he has greatly contributed to the development of the regional energy convergence industry by jointly promoting numerous national projects with local companies.

He served as the Solar Power PD at the Korea Energy Technology Evaluation Institute and currently serves as the Director of Industry-Academic Cooperation at Silla University. In November, he was elected as the 8th president of the Korean Photovoltaic Society and will serve a one-year term starting January next year.
