"Merry K-mas!"... Ministry of SMEs and Startups Hosts Live Market for Small Business Products Until the 27th
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced on the 14th that it will release promotional videos and TikTok challenge videos to encourage public participation in the ‘Merry K-MAS 2020 Christmas Market’ and conduct various prize events.
On the same day, the Ministry unveiled viral and television (TV) promotional videos featuring promotional model Kim Jun, as well as TikTok challenge videos.
The 1 minute 30 seconds viral promotional video parodies the Christmas classic movie Home Alone and features a rewritten carol song “Jumun Bell” (Order Bell), encouraging people to purchase products from small business owners online to give hope to those struggling due to COVID-19.
The approximately 30-second TV promotional video delivers a message for small business owners going through difficult times due to COVID-19: “Let’s wear Santa masks and share kind consumption to become pleasant gifts to each other.”
The SNS TikTok challenge (Santa Mask Challenge) is conducted by posting videos on TikTok of participants dancing to Kim Jun’s “Jumun Bell” song while wearing Santa masks.
The Ministry has been running an event since the 12th on the Merry K-MAS website, where Santa masks are given away for free through a lottery.
To participate, visitors fill out their name, contact information, and address in the event section of the website. Those who receive a Santa mask and upload a photo wearing the mask on SNS can enter a lottery to win prizes such as iPads and AirPods Pro.
