Mokpo Island Senior Welfare Center Supports Heating Tents for Customized Elderly Care Services
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Ki-dong] The Mokpo E-Land Senior Welfare Center (Director Kang Ju-ho), operated by the social welfare corporation E-Land Welfare Foundation (Chairman Park Seong-gyeong), announced on the 13th that it provided heating tents to 211 elderly recipients of customized care services from the 7th to the 10th.
This project supported elderly individuals among the customized care service recipients who are vulnerable to cold during winter or exposed to cold due to economic difficulties. Care workers visited their homes directly to install the tents. The heating tents are expected to block drafts in the elderly’s homes during winter and provide a heat retention effect of more than 5 degrees Celsius compared to the outside temperature, helping to reduce heating costs.
An elderly resident of Wonsan-dong who received a heating tent said, “My house is old and very drafty, so I used to put on draft stoppers and cover myself with several blankets to fall asleep,” and expressed gratitude, saying, “Thanks to the heating tent support, I will be able to spend this winter warmly.”
Director Kang Ju-ho said, “We thank the Naver Happy Bean officials and sponsors who helped provide warmth to the elderly this winter,” and added, “We will make further efforts to ensure that elderly people exposed to the cold in winter are not neglected.”
